MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Six months of food services experience in a commercial, industrial, military or institutional food service operation which involved the actual preparation of food.
ESSENTIAL FUNTIONS:
25% Performs food service work to include: prepares salads, desserts, hot and cold beverages, and snacks; washes, peels and cuts fresh vegetables and fruits; operates commercial grade peelers, choppers, blenders, mixers, slicers, and any other equipment necessary to prepare foods.
25% Performs heavy manual extensive cleaning activities to include: washes and scours pots, pans, utensils, etc; defrost freezers, cleans refrigerators and coolers; mops floors, wipes walls, doors and windows.
Cleans and disinfects tables, chairs, counters, equipment, etc.
; cleans storage areas, utility room and garbage disposal room.
20% Sets up steam lines, food carts, special diet trays, etc.
Ensures condiment containers are filled, serves food trays as directed by supervisor.
20% Operates dishwasher and stores clean dishes after each meal.
5% Practices good personal and food sanitation regulations.
Report to supervisor any unsafe conditions and defective equipment.
5% Collects and disposes of all garbage accumulated in the kitchen, dish room, dining room and garbage disposal room.
Performs other related duties as required.
