Summary Overall responsible for achieving acceptable productivity levels at the Shreveport Vehicle Processing Center.
Provide safe, effective management and direction to the Yard department in regards to vehicle receiving, movements, staging, inventory control, damage control and tendering/releasing to meet daily production and shipment requirements.
Responsibilities Represents Hyundai Glovis with customers, relative to all yard matters Ensures that Shreveport Yard Operations meets or exceeds customer acceptable quality levels and standards Motivates and directs Yard related personnel Manage, plans and direct vehicle movements in a manner that results in minimal wait time for drivers consolidating movements whenever possible Works with other departments to facilitate the efficient movements of units on the yard and the processing of units through the VPC and PIO production area Coordinate with other department managers to develop training documents and strategies for vehicle movement Follows Production Plan without deviation Compile and present daily reports in staff meetings Based on projected workload, schedules appropriate number of personnel to insure timely completion, quality, and the most efficient utilization of staffing.
Diagnose, investigate and solve yard inefficiencies Troubleshoots as needed to facilitate the processing of damaged units or other units requiring special attention.
Develops, implements, and standardizes yard related policies and procedures Diagnose, investigate and solve yard inefficiences Ensure inbound rail units are in damage free condition Conduct vehicle handling audits Provides guidance, technical support and feedback to team members on an ongoing basis regarding changing work procedures, safety precautions, etc.
Prepare disciplinary notices and conduct counseling sessions with personnel regarding performance deficiencies and/or failure to abide by established procedures and safe work practices.
Provides feedback to personnel regarding performance Conducts audits on parking procedures Other tasks and duties as assigned by the leadership team Skills Must be able to read/interpret maps and measurements Ability to drive automaticand manual transmission vehicles Proven leadership experience Analytical, critical thinking, short to long-term planning, leadership and organizational management skills required.
Ability to develop and motivate a team Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively to a variety of audiences Knowledge of supervisory principles and practices andin organizingwork activities and personnel Ability to provide and support a vision and direction Ability to read, write andfollow verbal and written instructions in English Experience in drafting formal quality related policies and procedures.
Previous quality auditing experience desirable.
ISO 9001:2015 certification Expert with MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook Education & Experience HS Diploma / GED Bachelors Degree Preferred 3 - 5years OR equivalent combination of education and experience in AutomotiveLogistics, Manufacturing experience Clear MVR and Valid State Driver's License Physical Requirements Ability to sit in front of a desk and/or in front of the computer for long periods Repetitive use of hand/grasping product, writing, and typing Sit Stand/walk Drive Bend/stoop Climb, Reach above shoulder Kneel/squat Balance, Push/Pull Crawl/Crouch Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this job.
