Earnest Contracting is seeking an experienced Rotary Mixer Operator (RM 500 Rotary Mixer) for our soil cement crew.
Experience at a concrete plant or sand plant is *NOT WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR*.
Only applicants with relevant soil cement (related to road construction) experience will be considered.
The RM500 Operator is responsible for combining soil/aggregate, cement, and water to modify soils subgrade strength to provide a suitable base for road construction.
They need to be focused on safety and efficiency.

*Job Description:*

* Work under the immediate supervision of foreman and/or superintendent.
* Understands the process of soil cement and how to best mix the needed aggregates/materials into the soil, paying attention to any directions given by the foreman.
* Operates a machine that pulverizes material of the road bed and may mechanically mix it with cement, or other stabilizing materials.
* Start engines, move throttles, switches, and levers, and depress pedals to operate machines
* Coordinate truck driver and crew members to facilitate delivery, supply and application of water, cement, or other materials in the proper amounts.
* Take actions to avoid potential hazards and obstructions such as utility lines, equipment, workers, and falling objects
* Observe and comply with all safety and project rules.
* Flagger Certified, assists in controlling traffic passing near, in, and around work zones.
* Perform other job duties as assigned.
*Experience Required/Desired:*
* 2+ years of experience working with soil cement, on subgrade stabilization crew, or a mixer/stabilizer machine.
* Ability to calculate and properly apply the correct application of cement or other materials to be incorporated into the subgrade.
* Exceptional manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
* A sound understanding of pertinent safety guidelines.
* Manually lift/carry 50-100 lbs.
* Stand, walk, sit, kneel, crouch, or crawl for long periods of time.
* Ability to perform all required tasks during all weather conditions (hot/cold), and to work extended hours, as needed.
